A SPECIAL POST: In case you’re wondering that stands for Corrupt Industries Car Show of the Year, it’s not an award just a statement of recognition. I’ve done a few shows this year for JDM-Soul and Corrupt Industries but this was special, a great location at North Weald Bassett Air field, weather wasn’t bad either. The show is in its fifth year and is predominantly a Volkswagon / Audi german type affair, that’s probably why I’ve never heard of it before being a JDM man, but there was a good mix of cars including some great jap examples and classics.
Cracked out the jib / crane thing for the first time and got some attention even though I didn’t know what I was doing with it, the vid should be done soon but I’ve got the Drift Allstars one to do as well so might be a while. I also saw the world famous Stephen Brooks working on his video, he was busy so I didn’t bother him but I look forward to seeing it as usual! So I took a few photos as well, filming was the focus as usual but I took a few.
These two Audi’s were mint and got a lot of attention, they actually came all the way from Belgium for the show, so I’m glad it was so good and we saw some good weather before the rain came. They get our best of show for being true players and these are on coils because and I quote “Air is for balloons”!
A good crowd and great atmosphere, I met a few of the West London Collective guys, including Mark Loony (photographer, pimped Civic owner and JDM-Soul collaborator) who I also saw the day before at Drift Allstars, Russ from Middlesex Subaru OC who I hadn’t seen for a while with his clean Legacy and not to mention Perry of Rollin on Steelies fame in the white on white Polo.
It was all top notch stance, show and shine type stuff, good music and food (although (rant) I didn’t get any doughnuts because when I was queued up the in front ordered about 50 and I was on the way out so couldn’t be bothered to wait!).
So the last proper show of the year was the best which is a great way to go out, look forward to next year and maybe visiting a few more VAG events, not converted but definitely impressed!
